Hey guys! So I had the idea recently and some of you may have overheard us talking about it lately, to start work shopping a specific set of gear to maximize movement speed, stamina regen, reduce sprint cost etc. This gear would be used by a single player who's sole job is to grab an Elder Scroll and run. Delmerik and I have built the first prototype set of Scroll Runner gear and had a brief chance to test it in Cyrodiil. Del was able to get ahold of a scroll but the situation was too heavy before we could really get a good idea of how well the armor set will work. We've run tests by comparing normal armor running times against the prototype set and we were able to shave off a few seconds with it, meaning it is definitely worth tweaking to find the right mix of traits, enchants, Passives, and armor pieces. As of right now the prototype set is no where near complete and we need some help getting specific traits on specific pieces of gear. Right now the trial set of armor should look something like this:
Chest - Well-Fitted (Nights Silence set) Legs - Well-Fitted (Nights Silence set) Head - Well-Fitted (Nights Silence set) Shoulder- Divines (Magnus Gift set) Hands - Divines (Magnus Gift set) Feet - Divines (Seducer set) Waist - Divines (Seducer set) Weapons - Any trait (Seducer set) Necklace - Potion Cooldowns reduced by 5 seconds Ring 1 - Stamina Regen Ring 2 - Stamina Regen
All pieces of armor will be enchanted with Max Stamina glyphs. The person using this armor set should be under the influence of The Steed Mundus Stone to increase movement speed by 5% plus the boosts from the Divines trait items. The Scroll Runner needs a stack of Increase Movement speed potions as well before heading for a scroll. This is all just theory crafting right now and hopefully within the next few weeks we will be able to find a good balance to maximize this gear! If anybody would like to help out creating this specialized set please let Delmerik, SoCo, or LifesAnEpicFail know! More updates will be coming!

On a side note, to really do this properly we would want a full character build specifically centered around Scroll Running and movement speed. We did some light research and found that the perfect racial/class combination for a legitimate scroll runner build would need to use an Argonian Nightblade. The Nightblades have a few abilities that, when used properly together, can make them faster than any other class. Add to this, the medium armor passives that help increase speed and stamina stats and the Argonian racial passives for stamina and increased consumed potion duration. I realize that creating and grinding out another character specifically for this reason is a bit ridiculous, but if anybody decides to create an alternate character and wants to be considered for the Scroll Runner position I would start with this information and go from there!

you know whats funny is I have a sheet on my living room table I've been working on this idea since last weeks PvP run when that Rando took the scroll and couldn't run worth a shit, the set up you have now is really good 1) obviously as high of a level as we can get so that the affects are top notch because that is a long run 2) good enchanters: crafting the Rings of stam and stam regen I would be more than happy to craft this as I have before and do a test run because my stats are already allotted to maximize Stam and Stam regen and i'll have to take a look at my sheet and compare to what you have here

☆CARRIER SETUP☆ •Class: Nightblade •Weapons: One Hand & Shield -Dual Weild can work as well (not favored) ☆ARMOR/WEAPON SETS☆ •Set 1(Stamina Recovery): Oblivion's Foe(8 Trait), 3 piece •Set 2(Stamina Recovery): Night's Silence (2 Trait), 3 piece •Set 3(Max Stamina), 3 piece ☆TRAITS☆ •Armor: "Well Fitted" All 7 pieces. °•°•If you wear 7 pieces of blue quality armor with this, you reduce Sprinting Cost by 56%. °•°•7 pieces of Epic is 63% reduction. °•°•7 pieces with Legendary is 70% reduction. *NOTE: There is also a drop set from cold harbour bosses that gives you 35% reduced sprint cost. Thus, the possibility of no sprint cost with all Epic quality(63%) gear, totalling 98% reduction. You're stamina regeneration would counter this small gap, I think. •Rings: Stamina Recovery •Neck: Reduce potion cool down by 5 seconds °•°•The speed potion's speed buff lasts for 40.3 seconds. Potion cooldowns are 45 seconds. This allows you to constantly have the speed potion active.
That's it ^_^ Thanks for reading, and if there's anything you'd like to add, go for it, although I'm being pretty cocky on this one, but this is the best possible setup.
What could help me dig another step deeper is if anyone could find the formula for how much sprinting costs. I cannot find this ANYWHERE!

I have no idea how you would find out how much sprinting costs as there is no way to to tell unless you took (total stamina-stamina used over a given time, lets say you run for 10 seconds, so rough calc, 23,000-10,000=13,000: 10,000 is what my Stamina bar read looking at my Character sheet so I used 13,000, ran for 10 seconds, 13,000/10= 1,300, so you would use 1,300 stamina each second running with no buffs reducing stamina cost, with buffs you would just add in the % of reduction costs so like, 10,000 stam used but I buffed 63% reduction, 10,000*.63=6,300 so I would only have used 3,700 stam with that buff with 23,000 total stam, 23,000/3,700= 6.216* 10 (seconds= 62.16 seconds of running before running out of stamina....again rough calc I thought of when I got off work

Since we don't have the add one from pc on console, how about a simple math formula. Set up a base for running, a vanella character with no points into any skills or passive so, naked. Needs to be accurately clocked but if you take from what the nella characters base steam is, and the time it runs for, you can justify about how much stam is used per second to run, then utilizing the rest of the numbers, we can modify how much stam usage the set would give the runner, just for a general guesstimate.

Prototype's got a good idea for at least getting a rough guesstimate going. The only issue I see is that a scroll runner set relies on certain buffs that such a test wouldn't properly represent. For example, the Steed mundus effect gives you increases movement speed. Because speed is distance/time. Increasing it will show no change in how long your stamina takes to drain, but you will still travel farther for that duration. That extra travel distance won't be represented at all, and you'll appear to have had no change as your stamina drained just as fast as before the stone. We'll have to decide on multiple tests to properly test the contribution of all buffs/traits/etc to the build.

The one I recommend for the nella toon is a kind of 'control' for the tests to be based off of, also, I'm a little skeptical if stam regen actually slows down your stamina drain (ie; regenerates while you are still sprinting/ using stam) or if it just when you are not using stamina, it regens faster than normal. Either effect is bennificial to the runner.
If I'm guessing right, the cost of sprinting is a % of you max stamina, meaning at any lvl, with a naked nella toon, the stamina consumption for sprinting will be the same, just not sure of the % number.
