I'd like to encourage everyone to read these "news" posts as it will be a not so short summary of what's going on for the guild.
--------------------------------------
Summary:
•Guild Pvp will gain 2 days a week after Imperial City DLC. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
•Guild trader status and how we are assessing our current trader's success/failure.
•We have some pretty exciting guild events we will be rolling out over the next month, one of which will be starting this week, so stay tuned!
•Guild rank permissions have changed mildly. Rivetheadelite has been promoted to officer. Some inactive officers will be demoted, no butthurt intended ^_^.
•Guild website stuff.
---------------------------------------
•Guild PvP:
A lot of people have been wanting to do guild PvP 2 nights a week also stating that they prefer Tuesdays over Wednesday. We have decided to wait until the Imperial City DLC drops. The week the DLC is released, we will skip PvP so that everyone can focus on the new content. The following week we will swap to Tuesday and Thursday PvP. We are keeping weekends reserved for living our lives ^_^. We will also be looking for someone who wants to be in charge of organizing one of the 2 days, as me and SoCo can really only handle 1 day of the work, although we will try to attend both!
•Guild Trader: (edit: redacted prices for guild privacy against snipers)
SoCo posted this on an old thread that you may have missed, but I will reiterate it here. We are currently in the third week of assessing the current location of our trader. The first week we spent (redacted)k on him and made (redacted)k in taxes. Week 2 we bid ((less)redacted)k and totalled ((more)redacted)k in taxes. This week we will calculate how much gold the guild made off the trader and place that as our bid the following week. If we make x in taxes, we will bid x on the trader. If we win the trader, we have accomplished our goal of a self sustaining trader and will stick with it. Otherwise, we will move to a higher traffic area and start this same process over. So essentially, it takes us 4 weeks of monitoring a trader to see if it is worth it, with the chance of losing the bid every 4th week. The idea here is to find a self sufficient trader so that donated gold can go back into guild members pockets via activity and guild events! Edit: Any active player is more than welcome to know the bid we place on our trader. I've decided to keep it private omin public domain though for stated reasons.
•Guild Events:
SoCo and myself (more SoCo, I don't want to steal his thunder!) have been working pretty hard to figure out some new and fun guild events. One has to do with embrosia but I'll let you guys find out when it's officially posted and we start plugging it! So on top of the raffle and weekly PvP, we should be rolling out a few more events that will encourage members to become more active in the guild and have some pretty nifty rewards!
•Guild Ranks:
The ranks are set in stone at this point and only minor adjustments will be made when needed. With that said, we have removed the ability for the 3 lowest ranks to invite to the guild. Only squire and higher can invite from this point on. We are also working on proper promotions/demotions to reflect characters current status in the guild. There will be some officers removed from their status for the time being due to school and life. We just don't feel it's appropriate to have the duties of an officer if you cannot perform them. It's never anything personal when we do this, but we don't want new members sending messages to officers who aren't online on a daily basis. And for those of you who hadn't heard, rivetheadelite is our newest appointed officer! He's given essentially all his spare gold to the guild so we can host events and maintain a guild trader. He even gave a straight +50k to our first weeks raffle. Moreso, whenever he is online, he is in chat and always willing to offer advice to new members/players and give them time, all while having an upbeat attitude about it. This is what we look for in our officers! We don't need your gold or your fancy yellow items, that isn't what The RenReg is about. We have always and will always focus on community over anything. By listening in area chat and helping out a complete stranger, you enstill what it means to be a member of this community that we have built together. You act as a beacon for our guild and show interest in other players. Always keep this in mind when recruiting. If you notice a random player helping out another random player, try to recruit the one being helpful! We thrive on this and I would love to see more players of this caliber become Renegades! (Kind of a weird thing now that I think of it...we are nice renegades? Anyway...)
•Guild Website:
I plan on working hard on setting up the site to be ready for forum submitted character builds. I have a good, easy to read, no bullshit outline layout out as of now, but I will not roll this out until 3-4 weeks post Imperial City. My goal here is to keep the builds section clean with up-to-date guild submitted builds. Emphasis on up-to-date! I will keep working on it for the time being! I'd also like to work on getting some more guides added but just haven't had time. Each guide takes me about 6 hours to get to where I'm happy with, so this section may be removed all together if I'm unable to write content for it. I appreciate the offers I've received for things like server hosting and help with the site! But when push comes to shove, I don't trust strangers on the Internet lol.
Any suggestions for anything listed above is always welcome ^_^
