While it might be a while coming, player housing has been confirmed as an upcoming feature for Elder Scrolls Online. Start picking out your wallpaper and crown molding now, people! In a recent interview, Game Director Matt Firor said that ZeniMax is kicking around ideas for ESO’s version of housing: “Internally, the development team have different concepts that are currently checked — from simple over extensively to ‘impossible.’ In the end it will probably be a mix of all variants which pays particular attention to the fact that it has a very solid structure, which is also reminiscent of the housing from the single-player titles in the series.” Creative Director Rich Lambert acknowledged on this past week’s ESO livestream that housing is in the initial stages of development and declined to state when it might be coming to the game. I don't know if there has been any work done yet. To me, it seems like it's still just an idea that is on the drawing board. Would be interesting to hear what their game plan is on it once they decide on something! There's so many routes they could go with this!

Well the great thing about the developers of eso is that they pay attention to player feedback.. I'm sure a forum will open up if one hasn't already and they will hopefully get a good idea of what the players want with housing. I have faith in them.

Honestly if they have a set up similar to how Lord of the rings online was done, it would be a pretty simple thing to add in. At least on the surface. Basically the set up was:
1 instance that listed off districts. Each district has 10-15 houses which you had free roam to decorate, besides changing the actual pre-made houses themselves. Decorations could be bought or gained through achievements/boss drops for trophies to show off. Paint and flooring could be changed etc. Have out doors oriented decorations such as statues, trees, benches. You basically bought the house and paid a renters/upkeep fee weekly or monthly (i don't remember it was a long time ago) Size of house factors into rent and up front cost. I'd say guild housing would be something everyone could enjoy more. Since Their wasnt a true practical reason for personal houses besides guilds holding meetings.

that sounds pretty sweet actually I think guild housing in ESO would be helpful to do trades, area chat, 1v1 dual!! hello, etc. without the interruption of other morons out there in the world

Exactly, Id say a guild house sizes and resources and maybe a member amount requirement should all be factors. Also Allow you to have access to vendors from the house directly so if you have a guild trader you can set up shop through the guild house instead of going all the way to a trader way out of the way. That and a built in pub would be nice.
